This is the playground of Steven Roberts, N4RVE, who skipped out of midwest suburbia in 1983 aboard a "computerized recumbent bicycle" and never looked back. Linked from this page are adventure tales, philosophical maunderings, random bloggage, full system designs, technical resources, and how-to material covering a huge range of topics.

Latest News - my "live page," usually updated 1-2 times a week.  This is where most of the current news appears, including thoughts of the moment, a new photo in every posting, and recent sales.
I have two blogs:  Nomadness where I chronicle development and deployment of the new ship, as well as a general blog for occasional maunderings.  Both have RSS feeds. Goodies for sale... there is always fun geekstuff in the Microship General Store on eBay (see below!), and we also have mugs and shirts, a few PDF technical documentskayak paddle bags, and mesh slings for kayak stands.
Mobile Lab project - lab integration into a Wells-Cargo trailer (back-burnered at the moment).  The Shacktopus project has its own set of pages, as does the more streamlined Kayaktopus integrated into a Hobie Revolution kayak.
Articles and Resources - library of how-to material, geek info, story archives, other projects, and more... including quite a bit of newer material about the Microship.  Recent work on the new boat is here, and there is also a small collection of product reviews.
Gonzo Engineering - a philosophical manifesto about the underpinnings of all this.  Rhapsodies on related themes include The Heart of Nomadness and The Other Woman.
Media Coverage over the years... and a list of the corporate sponsors who have helped make this possible. Public Speaking & Writing Portfolio  Camano Island services - random jobs I might be willing to do for my neighbors.
Technomads - You know, I'm not the only crazy geek who combines techno passions with a longing for adventure.  The technomadic Discussion Forums have been disabled due to spam; I hope to bring them back to life one of these days. Here by mistake?  E-mail Steve
